Opportunites for Service in Liturgical Ministries
Altar Servers: Altar servers assist the priests and deacons during Masses, including weddings and funerals. This ministry is open to all parish children and youth in grades four and above who have received First Eucharist. Training is provided at various times during the year.
Art & Environment: Parishioners who are gifted in the visual arts of floral arranging, or interior design are welcome to participate in the Art & Environment of the parish. This group meets to design, decorate and remove decorations for the interiors of the church and gathering space for each of the Liturgical Seasons.
Church Cleaning: Church Cleaning is a new ministry at Presentation during these times of
Covid-19. Church cleaners stay after mass and clean the pews so that the church is disinfected and ready for the next mass. A short training session is required.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion: Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute the precious Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. This ministry is open to all adults and high school youth from the parish who have a sincere love and appreciation for God’s gift of the Eucharist; have received the sacrament of Confirmation; and who are not prevented from receiving the Eucharist themselves. Parish and/or Diocesan training is provided at various times during the year.
Greeters: Greeters provide hospitality at weekend Masses by welcoming all who attend our church, by distributing weekly bulletins, and by answering questions. This ministry is open to individuals as well as family groups, and is best suited to those who enjoy interacting with others.
Lector: Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass. This ministry is open to all adults and older high school youth from the parish who have a sincere love for the Word of God contained in scripture and who possess good reading skills and a clear speaking voice. Parish and/or Diocesan training is provided at various times during the year.
Mass Coordinator: Mass Coordinators ensure smooth functioning at weekend, holiday, and Holy Day Masses by overseeing the details of Mass preparation and assisting with tasks before and after Mass.
Ushers: Ushers assist with seating of the assembly, gathering the collection and distributing the bulletin at weekend Masses.
