  Congratulations on the blessing of a new child! We are honored that you’ve chosen our parish to be part of welcoming your child to God’s holy family through the Sacrament of Baptism. Through Baptism, your child becomes an official member of our parish community and our Church!

- Baptism Class
  
  We ask all parents to attend one Baptism Class. These are scheduled several times each year.
  
  Families who baptized a child after June 2020 do not need to attend the class for subsequent children, but are welcome.
  
  Godparents are also welcome to attend the class.
- Next Steps
  
  Parents, families and the Church each have specific roles in the ritual of Baptism, so before your child is baptized, we meet with you so that our celebration of the Baptism ritual is done gracefully and well.
  
  At the meeting, we will go over the details of the ceremony, with emphasis on the symbols and the promises that you will make for your child. We’ll also cover the movements that you will make with your child and the godparents.
  
  We have special instructions for children 4 or older; we will discuss these with you.

  Baptisms are usually celebrated at the end of the 4:30 p.m. Saturday Mass or after the noon Mass on Sunday.
