LITURGY & MUSIC
 
Liturgical Ministries is open to registered parishioners who are seeking ways to serve God.
Altar Server
Altar servers assist the priests and deacons during Masses, including weddings and funerals. This ministry is open to all parish children and youth in grades four and above, as well as adults. (Funeral servers are primarily adults.) Training for Altar Servers is in January and August.
 
Art & Environment
Parishioners who are gifted in the visual arts of floral arranging, or interior design are welcome to participate in the Art & Environment of the parish. This group of parishioners meet to design, decorate and take down the decorations for the interiors of the church and gathering space for each of the Liturgical Seasons.
 
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. This ministry is open to all adults and high school youth, registered parishioners, have a sincere love and appreciation for God’s gift of the Eucharist, have received the sacrament of Confirmation, and who are not restrained through a marriage situation from receiving the Eucharist themselves. Diocesan training for certification as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist is provided several times a year at various locations in the diocese. 
 
Greeter
Greeters provide hospitality at weekend Masses by welcoming all who attend our church, by distributing weekly bulletins, and by answering questions. This ministry is open to individuals as well as family groups, and is best suited to those who enjoy interacting with people.
 
Lector
Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass. This ministry is open to all adults and older high school youth who are registered members of the parish, have a sincere love for the Word of God contained in scripture, have received the Sacrament of Confirmation, and who preferably possess good reading skills and a clear speaking voice. Diocesan training for certification as a Lector is provided several times a year at the Catholic Center and various locations in the diocese. 
 
Mass Coordinator
Mass Coordinators are instrumental to ensure smooth functioning at weekend, holiday, and Holy Day Masses by filling all of the liturgical ministers positions at Mass. They oversee the filling and cleaning of the sacred vessels prior to and following Mass.
 
Usher
Ushers assists with seating of the assembly, gathers the collection and distributes the bulletin at weekend Masses.

Music Ministries seeks out parishioners who are gifted or willing to learn the art of making music for the inspiration of worshiping God. 
 
Vocal Ministry:
Cantors
Cantors assist the congregation in singing during liturgies. This ministry is open to all adults and middle school age youth and older who enjoy and have the gift of singing.
 
Choristers School
Choristers is a long standing choral tradition in the Roman Catholic Church. Choristers is a choir comprised of children who have the gift of singing and are trained to excel in the musical art of song for the purpose of worship.  Choristers is open to singers entering the second semester of Second through Eighth grades. Rehearsals are one night a week 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Cooper Room. 
 
Men’s and Women’s Ensembles
Ensembles for men and women allow the expanded opportunity for these groups to lead in worship and at special parish events. The groups are open to persons from middle school and older who have an interest in singing music specifically written for their voices. 
 
Parish Choir
The Parish Choir sings at 10:00 a.m. Mass, September through May. Choir membership is open to adults and middle school students who enjoy and have the gift of singing. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the parish Music Room. 
 
Saturday Ensemble
This combination instrumental and vocal choir is open to parishioners of all ages who enjoy singing or playing an instrument. Rehearsals are at 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The Ensemble provides music at the 4:30 p.m. Saturday Mass.
 
Instrumental Ministry:
Hand Bell Choir
Handbells play once a month during the school year and for special seasonal Masses and programs. Our handbell group also presents music at other churches and Care Centers. Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Intergenerational membership: grades six through adult. 
 
Instrumentalists
Persons who play orchestral or acoustical instruments are welcome to play at our weekend Masses. Saturday Masses are accompanied by guitars. Anyone who plays an instrument is invited to contact the Liturgy & Music office, 251-1110 for opportunities in Presentation’s Instrumental Ministry.
